Role: Senior Designer – Furniture Dealer

OVERVIEW
Leading international workplace interiors and commercial furniture specialist to find a Senior Workplace Interior Designer for its London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer to join a highly regarded, design-led business delivering complex workplace projects for major corporate clients. The role combines creative interior design, furniture specification, technical delivery and client engagement. You will take projects from initial brief and concept development through to detailed specification, installation information and final delivery. This position would suit a workplace designer with experience gained within a furniture dealer, design-and-build company, architectural practice or commercial interiors studio.
The Role
You will work closely with clients, sales, project management, procurement and operations teams to create considered workplace environments that respond to the design brief, budget and programme.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing workplace design concepts, space plans and furniture layouts
- Working directly with clients to understand their objectives and design requirements
- Presenting design proposals, finish palettes and product solutions
- Managing client feedback and the design approval process
- Researching furniture, lighting, accessories, fabrics and finishes
- Selecting products in line with the project budget, lead times and design intent
- Preparing detailed furniture specifications and validation packages
- Liaising with manufacturers regarding pricing, technical information and availability
- Producing and revising AutoCAD drawings, layouts and installation information
- Carrying out site surveys, measurements and furniture inventories
- Coordinating with architects, designers, contractors and specialist consultants
- Working closely with internal sales, procurement and project delivery teams
- Managing outsourced design support where required
- Tracking design hours against project budgets
- Managing several live projects while maintaining accuracy and design quality
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to installation
About You
You will have at least three yearsโ experience working within workplace interiors, commercial furniture or a related design environment.
You should be confident combining creative thinking with technical accuracy and commercial awareness. You will also be comfortable presenting directly to clients and taking ownership of projects.
You will ideally have:
- Experience within a furniture dealer, workplace design studio, A&D practice or design-and-build company
- A degree in Interior Design or a related subject
- Strong workplace planning and interior design experience
- Good commercial furniture and manufacturer knowledge
- Experience producing furniture layouts and detailed specifications
- Confidence selecting materials, finishes and furniture products
- A strong understanding of project budgets, lead times and commercial constraints
- Experience conducting site surveys and producing technical information
- Excellent presentation and client communication skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach
Software
Strong AutoCAD skills are required.
Experience with the following would also be valuable:

- SketchUp
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft Office
- Furniture specification and project management software
