£45,000 base + commission | £80,000 OTE at target, with scope to earn more

We are working with a growing, design-led furniture and lighting consultancy delivering projects across hospitality, workplace, residential and leisure.

The business sits between design, procurement and project delivery, working closely with designers, architects and clients to source and deliver furniture and lighting schemes that balance aesthetics, budget, programme and environmental responsibility.

They are now looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, deliver projects and develop long-term commercial relationships.

The Role

This is a client-facing position combining account management, furniture specification, commercial responsibility and project ownership.

You will work closely with clients from the early stages of a brief through to final delivery, helping translate design intent into solutions that are commercially viable, well considered and deliverable.

The role requires someone who already understands the furniture industry, has strong design judgement and is comfortable taking commercial responsibility.

You will be expected to build relationships, identify opportunities within existing accounts and ensure projects are delivered properly, while maintaining a high level of service throughout.

What You’ll Be Doing
Manage and develop a portfolio of client accounts.
Build strong relationships with designers, architects and end clients.
Understand project briefs and translate design intent into appropriate furniture and lighting solutions.
Develop specifications, quotations and client proposals.
Curate products with a strong eye for design, quality and suitability.
Take responsibility for pricing, margin and overall commercial viability.
Negotiate with clients and suppliers where required.
Manage multiple projects, budgets, timelines and stakeholders.
Guide clients through product selection and specification.
Identify opportunities for repeat business and account growth.
Work closely with internal project and operations teams to ensure a clear handover and successful delivery.
Attend client meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
About You

For this role, furniture industry experience is essential.

You will ideally have spent at least 2–3 years working as an Account Manager, Salesperson, Furniture Consultant or in a similar commercial role within a furniture brand, dealer, consultancy or closely related business.

You should already understand how furniture projects are specified, quoted, sold and delivered, and be comfortable working with architects, designers and end clients.

You are likely to be:

Commercially minded and comfortable working towards sales and gross profit targets.
Knowledgeable about furniture brands, products and the wider interiors market.
Design-aware, with strong taste and the confidence to make considered product recommendations.
Comfortable managing client relationships and taking ownership of accounts.
Highly organised and capable of managing several live projects at once.
Confident preparing quotations, specifications and proposals.
Proactive and comfortable making decisions.
A clear and personable communicator.
Detail-focused without losing sight of the wider commercial objective.
Interested in responsible sourcing and how the design industry can operate more sustainably.
The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity for someone already working within the furniture industry who wants greater ownership of clients, projects and commercial outcomes.

You will be joining an ambitious, design-conscious business where good taste, commercial thinking and strong client relationships are equally important.

The commission structure is designed to reward performance:

Base salary: £45,000
OTE: c.£80,000 at 100% of target
Commission: c.£35,000 at target, with further upside for overachievement

For someone commercially ambitious, there is genuine scope to earn beyond the stated OTE.
