Role: Sales High End Rugs
High Quality Designed Rugs
OVERVIEW
Contemporary design specified by leading architects, interior designers and hospitality groups internationally
Collate Form is recruiting for an exceptional Sales & Business Development Manager to lead the UK & Ireland growth of an internationally established, design-led manufacturer working at the highest end of the interiors market.
This is a business with a rare combination of heritage, craftsmanship, specialist manufacturing expertise and contemporary design. Its products are specified by leading architects, interior designers and hospitality groups internationally, with bespoke capabilities allowing it to work across highly individual residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
The opportunity in the UK is significant.
We are looking for someone who already knows the London design community: a commercially minded, well-connected individual who can build genuine relationships, open doors and turn specification opportunities into long-term business.
This is not simply a sales position. You will become the key commercial presence for the brand across the UK & Ireland, supported by an established European manufacturing operation and working closely with its exclusive UK distribution partner.
The Role
You will take ownership of developing the brand across both the A&D / Contract and premium Retail channels, identifying new opportunities and building a sustainable project pipeline.
You will:
Develop relationships with leading architects, interior designers, design studios, developers and hospitality groups.
Introduce the collection and manufacturing capabilities to new practices and specifiers.
Build a strong pipeline of high-end residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
Identify emerging studios, new clients and untapped opportunities across the market.
Manage the full commercial journey, from initial introduction and specification through negotiation and project conversion.
Work collaboratively with the UK distribution partner and the wider international team.
Organise presentations, studio visits, Lunch & Learns, showroom events and other client-facing activity.
Support designers with bespoke proposals tailored to individual projects.
Maintain clear visibility of opportunities, activity and pipeline through CRM reporting.
Represent the business at exhibitions, design events and client meetings.
Who Weβre Looking For
The strongest candidates are likely to have built their career within luxury furniture, interiors, textiles, surfaces, lighting, design or another specification-led premium product sector.
You should bring:
Significant experience within London’s luxury Architecture & Design market.
An established personal network of interior designers, architects and design studios.
A strong understanding of high-end residential projects, alongside hospitality and commercial interiors.
Experience working with specification-led products and project sales.
Knowledge of both Contract and Retail routes to market.
Confidence engaging senior designers, principals, developers and commercial decision-makers.
Strong commercial judgement and negotiation ability.
A consultative rather than transactional approach to sales.
The ability to manage complex, high-value projects over relatively long sales cycles.
A genuine interest in craftsmanship, manufacturing, materials and design.
The Person
We are not looking for somebody whose approach begins with a cold sales list.
We are looking for someone who has spent years becoming part of the design community β someone who understands the studios, the personalities, the projects and how relationships actually develop within this market.
Your phone calls get answered because people know you.
You are naturally sociable and commercially ambitious, but equally credible discussing design, materials, manufacturing and bespoke project requirements.
You enjoy discovering opportunities, connecting people and helping turn an initial conversation into a project that may develop over many months.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to take a respected international design manufacturer and significantly expand its presence within one of the world’s most influential design markets.
You will have:
Genuine ownership of the UK & Ireland market.
The backing of an established international manufacturing business.
Extensive product and manufacturing training.
The ability to work with some of the world’s leading architecture and interior design practices.
A sophisticated, highly customisable product offering suited to exceptional projects.
Significant scope to shape the market strategy rather than simply inherit an established sales territory.
A competitive package comprising salary, performance-related incentives and benefits.
London based, with travel across the UK & Ireland and occasional international travel.
Applications and enquiries are handled confidentially by Collate Form.
