Furniture Coordinator
CAD & Sales Support
Location: Shoreditch, London
Salary: £40,000 pro rata (annual equivalent)
Contract: Temporary / Freelance – 3 to 6 months
Potential: Opportunity to become permanent
An excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded independent furniture consultancy working on a major international project for a high-profile client.
We’re looking for an experienced Furniture Coordinator with strong organisational skills, commercial furniture knowledge and practical CAD experience to support a busy account management and interior design team.
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role, ideally suited to someone with experience working for a commercial furniture dealer, furniture consultancy or the furniture division of a design and build company.
The business has recently secured a significant project and needs someone who can get up to speed quickly, keep things organised and help deliver it successfully.
The Position
Working closely with an Account Manager and Interior Designer, you’ll support the day-to-day coordination of furniture specifications, layouts, quotations, samples and supplier information.
You’ll be involved in a single major international project, helping ensure everything from furniture selection through to ordering and delivery is accurately managed.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Account Manager and Interior Designer with furniture specifications and project coordination.
- Using CAD software to arrange, move and update furniture blocks within existing floor plans.
- Preparing furniture schedules, product specifications, quotations and presentations.
- Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to source products, finishes, materials and samples.
- Requesting and managing quotations, pricing, product information and lead times.
- Coordinating purchase orders, supplier communications and delivery information.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, schedules and trackers.
- Keeping on top of multiple deadlines and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in commercial furniture coordination, sales support or FF&E administration is essential.
- Ideally, experience working for a furniture dealer, furniture consultancy or design and build company.
- Practical CAD skills are essential, particularly the ability to work with existing floor plans and furniture layouts.
- Good knowledge of commercial furniture manufacturers, products, specifications and procurement processes.
- Strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence managing complex information.
- Comfortable communicating with manufacturers, suppliers and internal project teams.
- Highly organised, proactive and capable of working at pace with minimal supervision.
This is primarily a furniture coordination position, not a standalone interior design role. However, an understanding of interior design and furniture space planning would be a significant advantage.
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a small, experienced and well-respected team with an excellent reputation in the commercial furniture industry.
The initial requirement is for 3 to 6 months, with the flexibility to work on a PAYE temporary contract or an agreed freelance basis.
The position could also develop into a permanent role, depending on ongoing project requirements.
For someone with the right experience who’s available at short notice, this is a great opportunity to work on a substantial international project with a genuinely good company.
