Role: Project & Sales Coordinator
You will be a key contact for clients and suppliers, coordinating projects from enquiry through to delivery.
OVERVIEW
We are working with a highly regarded, design-led furniture and architectural products business to find a Project & Sales Coordinator for its small London team. This is a varied and responsible position combining technical quoting, order coordination, product support, sampling and studio management. It would suit someone highly organised who enjoys taking ownership of projects and becoming genuinely knowledgeable about the products they represent. A significant part of the role will involve preparing quotations for large-scale architectural acoustic projects. These schemes can include thousands of square metres of wall and ceiling products, so accuracy, technical understanding and close attention to detail are essential. This is not simply an administrative position. You will become an important point of contact for architects, designers, dealers, contractors and suppliers, helping projects move smoothly from initial enquiry through to delivery.
The Role
Salary: £34,000–£36,000, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Preferred start: September 2026
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and issuing detailed quotations for architectural wall and ceiling projects
- Reading architects’ drawings, schedules and specifications
- Translating technical information into accurate product quantities and quotations
- Checking dimensions, finishes, edge details and product specifications
- Responding to technical questions from architects, designers, dealers and contractors
- Developing detailed knowledge of the company’s furniture and architectural product ranges
- Monitoring all live orders and ensuring they remain on schedule
- Checking order confirmations, dispatch dates, payments and required documentation
- Following up with suppliers and clients to prevent avoidable delays
- Coordinating furniture, material and product samples
- Booking couriers and preparing approximately 15–20 sample packs each week
- Liaising with the warehouse, designers, dealers and end clients regarding sample deliveries
- Tracking loaned samples and ensuring they are returned in good condition
- Maintaining sufficient stock of material samples, packaging and stationery
- Keeping the studio organised, tidy and ready for client visits
- Supporting exhibitions, installations and special projects throughout the year
There may occasionally be additional hours required around major industry events such as Clerkenwell Design Week or the London Design Festival. Any additional time worked will be returned as time off in lieu.
About You
The most important qualities for this role are accuracy, organisation and a willingness to learn.
You will need to be comfortable managing detailed and often technically complex projects. Small errors can have significant consequences, so you should naturally check your work and take pride in getting the details right.
You will ideally have:
- Experience producing quotations, estimates or project schedules
- The ability to read and understand architectural drawings
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence managing several live projects and orders at once
- A clear, professional and friendly telephone and email manner
- The confidence to answer questions and independently find information
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills
- A proactive, practical and self-sufficient approach
- A genuine interest in furniture, interiors, architecture or design
- The ability to work collaboratively within a small, close-knit team
You do not need to know every furniture brand in the market. However, you must be willing to develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and become a reliable source of information for clients and project partners.
Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable
Previous experience within commercial furniture, workplace interiors, architectural products, acoustics or the wider design industry would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
Experience in any of the following areas would also help you stand out:
- Furniture or architectural product specification
- Interior, furniture or product design
- Adobe InDesign or Photoshop
- Website or digital content management
- Sample library coordination
- Supporting exhibitions, installations or design events
- Working with architects, dealers, contractors or interior designers
Why Consider This Role?
Because we really like them – and so does most of the industry, and I couldn’t think of a better place to continue to learn.
This is an opportunity to join a respected design business where your contribution will be visible and genuinely valued.
You will work across furniture, materials and large-scale architectural projects, gaining exposure to respected international brands and some of the UK’s leading architecture and design practices.
The breadth of the position also offers considerably more project ownership and product involvement than a typical sales support or administrative role.
The company is hoping to appoint someone during September, with the opportunity for a structured handover with the current coordinator towards the end of the month.
