Role: Sales Showroom Manager
The business is now looking for an experienced, commercially minded person to take ownership of the showroom,
OVERVIEW
We are working with a growing, design-led furniture brand to appoint a Showroom Manager / Sales Manager for its Shoreditch showroom.
Design-Led Furniture Brand
Shoreditch, London | Full-time | £50,000+ base + team performance bonus
The business has built a strong direct-to-consumer following around beautifully designed, contemporary upholstered furniture, working with internationally recognised designers and placing product, comfort and adaptability at the centre of what it does.
Having successfully established the brand online, the physical showroom has become an increasingly important part of the customer journey. The business is now looking for an experienced, commercially minded person to take ownership of the showroom, maximise sales and help shape the next stage of its growth.
The Role
This is first and foremost a sales role.
You will take responsibility for the commercial performance of the Shoreditch showroom, working closely with a small, collaborative team to ensure every customer receives an informed, personal and highly considered experience.
The brand already generates significant demand online, with many customers discovering the product before ever visiting the showroom. Your job will be to maximise those opportunities when customers do visit — understanding what they need, guiding them through product, fabric and configuration options and ultimately converting interest into sales.
Alongside direct customer sales, you will help increase showroom footfall through local partnerships, events and initiatives, and build relationships with interior designers and other relevant trade clients.
As the business grows, there is also the opportunity to play an important part in the development and opening of additional London showroom locations.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of day-to-day showroom sales and commercial performance.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial conversation through to order.
Convert showroom appointments, walk-ins and online-generated enquiries into sales.
Understand customer requirements and confidently advise on product, upholstery, fabric, configuration and specification.
Manage and develop the showroom environment, ensuring it consistently reflects the quality and personality of the brand.
Work closely with the wider customer service, operations and commercial teams.
Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Develop relationships with interior designers and residential trade clients.
Help create events, collaborations and neighbourhood initiatives that bring new customers into the showroom.
Support showroom-based content, launches and brand activity.
Monitor showroom performance and identify opportunities to increase conversion and average order value.
Maintain clear visibility across orders, stock and customer follow-up using internal systems.
Contribute ideas rather than simply operate an existing retail formula.
Over time, support the planning, opening and management of future showroom locations.
Who We Are Looking For
You will already have experience selling high-quality furniture, interiors or another design-led product within a showroom or retail environment.
You could currently be a Showroom Manager, Sales Manager, Senior Sales Consultant or experienced furniture salesperson ready to take greater ownership.
Experience within contemporary furniture, upholstery or premium interiors would be particularly relevant.
We are looking for someone who:
Is genuinely commercial and enjoys selling.
Understands how to turn an interested customer into a confident buyer.
Has experience working with considered, higher-value purchases rather than transactional retail.
Can balance excellent service with clear sales targets.
Is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about furniture, interiors and design.
Is confident discussing fabrics, finishes, dimensions and product configuration.
Is comfortable engaging both private customers and interior designers.
Has the personality to build long-term customer relationships.
Is organised and capable of taking real ownership of a showroom.
Enjoys working within a small, entrepreneurial business where everyone contributes.
Is happy getting involved in events, local marketing, content and wider brand activity.
Can work independently while remaining highly collaborative.
Experience working for a respected furniture retailer, contemporary furniture brand, design showroom or premium interiors business would be particularly interesting.
Trade
The immediate priority is to continue growing the successful direct-to-consumer side of the business rather than turn this into a traditional contract sales position.
However, there is a significant opportunity to develop relationships with interior designers and residential trade clients through the showroom.
The successful person should therefore understand the trade customer and be comfortable developing those relationships, while remaining focused on retail and showroom sales.
Working Pattern
This is a showroom-based London role.
Saturday is an important trading day, so some Saturday working will be required, although the business is looking at a sensible team rotation rather than expecting one person to cover every weekend.
Package
£50,000+ base salary, dependent on experience
Alongside the base salary, the business intends to operate a team-based performance bonus, rewarding the collective commercial success of the showroom rather than creating competition between individual members of the team.
The wider expected package has the potential to reach approximately £65,000 for strong performance.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a business at an interesting point in its development.
The foundations are already there: a distinctive product, strong design credentials, an established online customer base and a successful Shoreditch showroom.
The next stage is about becoming more commercially sophisticated without losing the energy and personality that helped build the business in the first place.
For the right person, this is much more than managing a shop floor. It is an opportunity to take ownership of a key sales channel, influence how the brand approaches physical retail and help develop the showroom model as the business grows.
