One of London’s most established and respected design-led furniture specialists.
Working with an extensive portfolio of contemporary furniture and lighting, the company supports architects, interior designers, specifiers and end users across workplace, hospitality, residential and public-sector projects.
This is an Account Manager position for someone who genuinely enjoys furniture consultancy and developing considered product solutions, but who is equally comfortable getting out into the market, meeting clients and generating new business.
The successful candidate will inherit existing relationships and live opportunities, while being expected to develop new contacts, re-engage dormant accounts and build a strong long-term pipeline.
This is not a hard-sell environment. The company’s reputation has been built through design knowledge, trusted advice and a high level of service. However, the successful candidate must still be commercially driven, proactive and confident creating opportunities rather than waiting for enquiries to arrive.
You will manage and develop relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, property professionals and client end users.
You will work consultatively with clients, understanding their brief and recommending furniture and lighting based on aesthetics, functionality, budget, lead times, sustainability and project requirements.
Alongside managing existing accounts, you will be expected to remain visible within the design community, arranging studio visits, attending industry events, hosting showroom meetings and developing new relationships.
You will manage opportunities from the initial conversation and product presentation through to quotation, specification and internal project handover, maintaining oversight of the client relationship throughout.
You may currently be working as an Account Manager, Business Development Manager, Furniture Consultant, Project Sales Manager or in a similar commercial furniture role.
Ideally, you will have experience working for a design-led furniture dealer, contract furniture consultancy, manufacturer or high-end furniture brand.
You should be comfortable advising clients and developing specifications, while also having the confidence and energy to generate new conversations and opportunities.
You will ideally bring:
The right person will be warm, credible and knowledgeable, without being overly sales-led.
You will enjoy becoming a trusted resource for your clients and helping them make informed decisions. At the same time, you will be naturally proactive and understand that strong relationships need to be continually developed.
You will be comfortable picking up the phone, arranging meetings, visiting studios and finding reasons to reconnect with both new and established contacts.
The Project Manager will take ownership of the delivery and installation process across multiple furniture projects.
You will act as the central point of communication between all relevant parties, identifying potential issues early and making sure that products, people and sites are fully prepared ahead of installation.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining project planning, site coordination, logistics, supplier management and client communication.
Sustainability is an important part of how the company approaches project delivery. The Project Manager will help support this by:
You will be organised, practical and confident managing several projects at different stages. You should be comfortable taking ownership, communicating with a wide range of people and resolving challenges calmly when plans change.
You will ideally bring:
Experience within a furniture dealership, workplace interiors company, furniture manufacturer or commercial design-and-build business would be particularly relevant.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly established name within London’s furniture and interiors industry.
The company has a strong pipeline of exciting projects to deliver, making this an important and visible position within the business. You will join an experienced team and have the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of projects for leading clients across London, the UK and internationally.
Salary: £34,000–£36,000, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Preferred start: September 2026
Your responsibilities will include:
There may occasionally be additional hours required around major industry events such as Clerkenwell Design Week or the London Design Festival. Any additional time worked will be returned as time off in lieu.
The most important qualities for this role are accuracy, organisation and a willingness to learn.
You will need to be comfortable managing detailed and often technically complex projects. Small errors can have significant consequences, so you should naturally check your work and take pride in getting the details right.
You will ideally have:
You do not need to know every furniture brand in the market. However, you must be willing to develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and become a reliable source of information for clients and project partners.
Previous experience within commercial furniture, workplace interiors, architectural products, acoustics or the wider design industry would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
Experience in any of the following areas would also help you stand out:
Because we really like them – and so does most of the industry, and I couldn’t think of a better place to continue to learn.
This is an opportunity to join a respected design business where your contribution will be visible and genuinely valued.
You will work across furniture, materials and large-scale architectural projects, gaining exposure to respected international brands and some of the UK’s leading architecture and design practices.
The breadth of the position also offers considerably more project ownership and product involvement than a typical sales support or administrative role.
The company is hoping to appoint someone during September, with the opportunity for a structured handover with the current coordinator towards the end of the month.
You will support the sales team across quoting, ordering, order checking and project administration, helping them focus on winning work and developing client relationships.
Responsibilities will include:
The role requires someone comfortable spinning multiple plates. Priorities can change quickly, particularly within a busy design-and-build environment, so you will need to remain calm, organised and responsive.
You will already have experience working within the commercial furniture, workplace interiors or FF&E industry, ideally for a furniture dealer or manufacturer.
You should be able to hit the ground running and will ideally have experience in several of the following areas:
You will also be:
Advanced Microsoft 365 skills are required. Experience using CRM systems or furniture-ordering software would be advantageous, while Adobe InDesign experience is useful but not essential.
Sales Support positions at this level rarely offer a salary of up to £50,000. The package reflects the importance of the role and the level of furniture knowledge, commercial understanding and responsibility required.
You will be joining a respected, design-led dealer with ambitious plans, a strong commitment to sustainability and an established position within the UK commercial furniture market.

Chief Sales Officer Kartell
James is a true professional, who puts not only his experience and knowledge in what he does, but also his heart. He’s always doing what’s best both for the hiring company and the candidate, even if that would mean sacrificing his own immediate return, ensuring a win-win situation for both parties and solid long-lasting results. Finding and bringing onboard the right candidates for a Sales position in London is terribly challenging, but with James support this time it has been different. I can strongly recommend James to any design or luxury furniture brand in the industry that need a partner to find the right candidates.
Architecture Grad
“James went above and beyond, not only throughout the application process, but also ensuring that I would be a good match for a company in terms of both professionalism and personality. His punctuality and communication meant that I was always involved in the process and knew exactly what stage I was at through an interview. His experience within the field allowed for him to advise me in depth based off of his own learnings and relationships with companies. Overall a 10/10 experience, he matched me with a job in a company that was aligned with exactly what I was looking for”
Dodds & Shute
We’ve had the pleasure of working with Collate to place several fantastic people at our company. James has an incredible knowledge of the industry and really understands our company and its culture, meaning he knows exactly which individuals will be the best fit for our team. Collate offer a personal touch that takes all the stress away and makes the whole experience of recruiting fun. We would absolutely recommended them to anybody
Head of Sales USA, UK Walter Knoll
Collate is rare, they deliver genuinely well-matched candidates, often spotting talent others miss. Their knowledge of the UK furniture market is sharp, and their approach feels like a true partnership. Their thoughtful, professional, and committed to long-term relationships, including a no-poaching policy that sets them apart. Highly recommended.
Trade Team Manager, Aram
Collate is now our go-to agency.
Their approach is rare, professional and refreshing with a deep understanding of the unique demands of our sector.
They have consistently delivered candidates who are both well-qualified but also the right fit for our team, the fit being of upmost importance for us… and Collate get that.
I’ve never hesitated to recommend.
Managing Director, Modus Furniture
A great understanding of our needs and intent to match the right candidate has had a hugely positive impact in enabling us to build a strong team. We continue to use Collate and would very much recommend anyone looking to use the service, to do so.

BDM
Have known James for many years, first as a client in his heydays working for dealers and now with Collate: not surprisingly he became straight away one of the best in Furnitureland (as he calls it)!
One of the very few in the industry who does listen to both sides employer and potential employee and makes that perfect match happen.
Vice President EMEA, Teknion
I have worked with the Collate team on numerous occasions now and would highly recommend them. Key to our collective success is having a thorough understanding of what is required based on taking a detailed brief and them having an in-depth knowledge of the commercial interiors marketplace. The interpretation and output have always been executed to the highest standard.
Executive Vice President, Moroso
What we really like about collaborating with James and Collate is their “People First” approach. They’re not just placing candidates for roles in companies. On one hand, this means that there is extra care in understanding more about the business and what a client is looking for; on the other end, it means understanding on a personal level and that candidates truly are interested in collaborating with your business.
Professionality and respect are a constant throughout the process.
